I didn't put it together until just
recently that there is something more to Arnold's running for
political office. Is he being set up to be president as crazy as
that sounds? I once thought it was crazy for GW to run for
president.
Sen. Orin Hatch is trying to get
legislation passed to allow a foreign born person to become president.
Sen. Hatch is also a big Arnold fan.
The best known Democratic family
is the Kennedy family ( Catholics). Now, if the power is
shifting from the old Kennedy's ( JFK, RFK, and Ted) to the next
generation "Kennedy" ( Arnold ) - that means that the
traditional Catholics are dumping the Democrats and/or are letting
them die out slowly.
There is already the movement to label
the more "liberal" Catholics as not being "real"
Catholics because of their position on such things as abortion and
birth control or expansion of the priesthood. The Geraldine
Ferraro type Catholic Liberal Democrats are losing favor while the
conservative Catholics are gaining currency. The few Catholics
running on the Democratic presidential ticket for 2004 will show just
how much ground remains for the liberals. If none of those
Democrats come close to giving GW a hard race then the Left is
finished.
For sure, the conservative Catholics have
already left the Democrats behind while the numbers of remaining
strong Democratic Catholics are dropping. They are being pushed
out of the "mainstream" of Catholicism. There is an
internal attack on the Catholic left. Arnold's Governorship marks
a milestone in the power shift toward the conservative Republican
right.
Although the immigration issue is still a
toss up - you see more and more conservatives trying to get the upper
hand on being perceived to be the champion of the new immigrant.
Well - I guess Arnold suits that purpose quite nicely with his
being a Catholic, a conservative and an immigrant. That
leaves the Democrats with "civil rights" issues for folks
that don't matter - Blacks, Muslims, and certain Hispanics who don't
want to claim to be White. If you will notice - the
conservatives have NOT been too harsh on immigrants and illegal aliens
compared to years past. "Non-traditional families" is one
other area that they're willing to let the Democrats retain.
And, if the Democrats want to cry about needing to raise taxes then so
beit. It has already been shown that folks would rather pay less
taxes now than worry about how much debt remains to be repaid later (
possibly after they're retired or dead).
Arnold is the new charismatic poster boy.
The Republicans had their Reagan in the 1980's. Now they have created
their very own "Kennedy" in 2003. If fact they have a
"Kennedy" and a "Reagan" all rolled into one
package. Ain't no stopping them now.
Hitler and Arnold's folks came from
traditionally Austrian Catholic backgrounds. Hitler left Austria
to become a leader of Germany. Arnold left Austria to become a
leader in the U.S.A. Both were artists before entering
politics in foreign nations. Arnold admitted admiring Hitler's
rise from a little man to become a man of power and stature.
Does Arnold see himself rising in power and stature? Probably.
Clearly, Bush wasted no time meeting the
new Republican "Kennedy". Bush knows the significance
of the achievement for the Reich ( I mean for the Right).
But, what about the Left?
Apparently, there is almost no Left left.
Ted Kennedy's nephew is the new political
powerhouse for the family. Arnold's popularity and political
clout ( not to mention his money and support network) matches and
exceeds that of his old uncle.
The "Terminator" has ended the
Democratic monopoly of the Kennedy clan's politics; and, he has
"recalled" the Left side of the country's political brain.
